Techo kaigi is a Japanese term that means “notebook meeting” or “planner meeting”.  It is a time to reflect on your current journaling and planning system, see what is working and what is not, and make adjustments. This concept extends to all forms of journaling! You can have a techo kaigi about your junk journal, your sketchbook, your work planner, your daily journal, truly anything!

How we will techo kaigi together:

-at the picnic tables outside the shop we will all sit down with our journals

-flip through your notebook and think about or write down what you like and dislike about your set up. Whats working and whats not.

-think about how you can fix or eliminate whats not working, or maybe you need to add a new element.

-simplify this plan

-start implementing your new plan!

Since we are doing a techo kaigi about 3 months into the year we will focus on how to edit, eliminate, and switch up your current journaling/planning systems. We will hold another techo kaigi in the fall and this meeting will be more focused on what you want to use in the coming year and creating a new system. 

We are doing this practice together so we will also be sharing our journals and systems with each other. You are encouraged to have a show and tell of your journals during this meeting. There is no better inspiration than seeing someone else’s notebook, so please come ready to share!
